The Reader is Hampshire College’s annual literary and visual arts journal produced completely by students. It aims to showcase student-produced works emblematic of Hampshire College at the time of publication.
Committees (visual, prose/poetry, and mixed media) formed in the Fall semester hold weekly discussions on the criteria for making selections and on the layout design. Anyone interested in joining a committee should plan to attend an interest meeting to be held within the first two weeks of the Fall.
Submissions are accepted throughout the school year with a deadline in mid February and publication in mid April.
The Reader is free and published using the Student Activities Fund.
The last issue, Vol. 23 (Spring 2017), marked The Reader’s 23nd year in publication.
